The ReefLive BR-mini100 is a nifty HOB biopellet reactor from Japan that can be used on your tank directly or in a sump. It comes in two colors – black and white – and can be mounted on rimmed or rimless tanks.
The design is pretty straightforward with a pump attached to the bottom to feed the reactor and pushed the water up and through the media, then trickles out into the tank or sump. The ReefLive BR-mini100 uses a Maxijet Micro (MJ-micro) as a pump that can be adjusted to meet the flow rate of your choice of pellets and volume.
The bottom of the reactor features a curved shape to direct the pellets down towards the pump inlet to help keep the media moving. There are fine slits over the inlet to help keep the possibility of pellets of falling through.
Because of the shape, you need a minimum tank height of 25cm (9.9 in.) for a rimmed tank and 22cm (8.7 in.) for a rimless tank.
The MSRP is ¥ 14,800 or around $140 USD.
