The spankin’ new AquaEffects LED striplights may look quite simple on the outside but there’s a lot of fun novel features for users of this new light to discover. By now it’s quite simple for almost any company to design and build a decent LED striplight which is both sleek, bright, and affordable.
With this premise already established ZooMed took a decidedly different direction with their AquaEffects LED lights to help them stand out in a crowd. ZooMed will be offering the AquaEffects in two models, creatively named Model 1 & Model 2, both of which feature multichannel, multicolor LED mixing which are programmable to suit a wide range of lighting needs and preferences.
Both Model 1 & Model 2 of the AquaEffects, as the name implies, will also have specially designed lighting effects to recreate idyllic aquatic environments. The AquaEffects Model 1 has built in speakers that work in conjunction with certain lighting modes to create lake wave sounds, jungle stream sounds, night lake sounds, and even light rain or thunderstorm sounds in conjunction with subtle color changes to really put you in the scene.
The Model 2 trades in the built in speakers for a little more oomph in the light department and relies on various lighting modes to spark the imagination. These will consist of four dynamic and four static lighting effects including wave, moon, cloud & storm effects while the static lighting program consists of a sunlight, moonlight, fish & plant modes.
The ZooMed AquaEffects LED Model 1 is controlled by a wired controller while Model 2 will use a wireless remote instead. Model 2 adds 390nm UV LEDs to its spectrum as well as a 24 hour light timer for plug and play operation. This is a really fun twist for making our aquariums more immersive and engaging, especially for a younger or more novice crowd, and we look forward to experiencing these when they are released perhaps in may in four sizes from 18 inches to four feet long.
