Finally! Some Good News About Corals
New research suggests that “robust” corals (think brain corals) may be more resilient, to bleaching than “complex” corals (like staghorns). If you’re feeling TL;DR and want to get to the gist of things, then catch the first half of this video. Seems corals struggle to produce the essential amino acids (the building blocks of life) without the symbiotic algal relationship. But robust corals can produce one essential amino acid, histadine, on their own. Watch on to learn more.
What if a Whale Swallowed You?
Here is an interesting video tackling the strange notion of a really peculiar animal attack, exploring the question. What would happen if a whale swallowed you up? Would you survive? Would it be a lot like Pinocchio’s encounter with Monstro? Probably not.
Strange Critters
There are plenty of strange creatures in the oceans but this video was able to single out five. Although it may be a little long, worth a review over your lunch or just to kill time at work.
SHARK! CHASE! ME!
Not exactly what you want to see when you’re out diving or spearfishing, but this lucky person got a bit of an adrenaline rush when this shark started following them, probably wanting their fish, all the way to the boat.

Good to see the Office of the President of the Dominican Republic put out this informative video about the countries efforts to regrow and take care of its coral reefs.
