It’s been over a year of anticipation, planning and building out, but finally the long anticipated Worldwide Corals flagship retail location opened its doors last weekend. Worldwide’s extended reefing family showed up for this momentous occasion and we were joined by Ecotech, Planet Aquariums, Brightwell, Waterbox, JBJ and many others at the grand opening of this new reefing landmark in Orlando Florida.
Of all the events we’ve participated in, very few have been quite as special as when Worldwide Corals opened up their doors for the public to see and experience what was built from the ground up to be a Temple of Reefing. We weren’t the only one who wouldn’t have missed this weekend for the world as hundreds of WWC’s regular customers lined up for up to an hour before the doors opened.
We didn’t just hang out for a couple hours either, like many others we were there for all of both days, really soaking up how the store is laid out, how the displays are designed and engineered, and just how many freaking corals they have in there! I might be proficient with corals, with a semi photographic memory, but there’s simply too many corals at the facility right now for any one person to know where they all are.
It’s literally going to take the staff weeks and months to really get to know the entire store, all of its subsystems and the routine of taking care of it all. The crazy part is that as much stuff, corals, fish and tanks that are in the new reef aquarium superstore, there’s certainly room for even more, and we can’t even imagine where this store will be at, how it will all look, when it’s been firing on all cylinders for another year.
This video captures the moment that the Worldwide Corals flagship store came to life, and I’m sure many of us will be referencing this past weekend as an important date in reef aquarium history for years to come.
