Aquatic life has introduced a new clear cartridge housing for their deionization filter system. The updated filter is made with durable polyethylene material to help prevent cracking if the cartridge is accidentally dropped.
The clear housing allows for easy viewing of the color-changing resin so you know when it is time to refill the cartridge. When all resin has changed to an amber color, it is time to replace the deionization resin. You can do this by replacing the cartridge or purchasing a bulk DI resin supply and refillable DI cartridge.
The color-changing resin is the highest quality Nuclear Grade DI ion exchange resin for direct purification of water. The resin is designed to be used with the refillable DI cartridges – refilling DI cartridges is much more economical than throwing away exhausted cartridges and recommended for hobbyists that require large quantities of purified water.
RO/DI water is recommended for mixing aquarium saltwater and for freshwater top off it removes most dissolved solids from tap water. Regular tap water, even with the use of dechlorination can still be contaminated with nitrates and phosphates leading to excess algae growth in aquariums.
Tap water can also be contaminated with trace amounts of metals from old pipes or other elements that may interfere with the general wellbeing of your aquarium livestock.
Pre-Installed 1/4″ Press Fit Connectors
Each cartridge includes pre-installed 1/4″ Press Fittings that accept standard 1/4″ tubing. Simply remove the factory-installed tight-sealing plug on each end. The tight-sealing plugs are necessary to keep the DI resin moist before installing, and specifically, so the resin does not leak from the cartridge during transport and storage.
Membrane Housing Clips Included
Each cartridge includes two clips that allow the cartridge to be attached to a standard membrane housing. Simply clip onto the housing and easily add another stage of filtration.
