The Filtertronic is the latest new product category to be in the pipeline for Focustronic, teased this past weekend as a single photograph. Following on their moving LED lights, automatic alkalinity controller, and five-channel peristaltic doser, the Filtertronic joins the Mastertronic of forthcoming products that are rapidly filling out the Focustronic ecosystem of aquarium devices.
Focustronic designed the Filtertronic to have a maximum possible with a minimal footprint, in essence almost stacking the new and used rolls on top of each other to conserve space. The unique orientation of the Focustronic auto filter roll design enables the Filtertronic to pass up to 7,000 liter of water per hour, with reduced dimensions to squeeze into some of the larger Red Sea sumps.
It would be an absolute game changer if the Filtertronic can practically plug and play into the sumps of larger reef aquarium kits with very little modification, but Focustronic is endowing the Filtertronic with some other tricks. In the event that you should so happen to make your aquarium water ‘too clean’, it will communicate with the unreleased MasterTronic to enable some bypass of aquarium water, perhaps useful for some crowded coral tanks and aquariums dominated by nutrient hungry LPS & soft corals.
With automatic filter rolls rapidly gaining popularity in the aquarium hobby, and many companies racing to hit on the right formula of features and form factors, Focustronic has zeroed in on a combination that should make the Filtertronic a worthwhile consideration once it is released.
