The Reef Builders Team is delighted to announce that Evie Anderson is joining us as Senior Field Reporter. Evie started keeping aquariums at the age of 8, learning the old-fashioned way, without the internet, and devoting countless hours to reading all the books and articles she could find in the public library on the subject.
She was keeping saltwater at the age of 20. Also, she managed a small pet franchise in Kansas, before gaining more than 10 years of experience in running and owning a saltwater-only fish store, including moving the store location.
Evie has kept multiple sizes of aquariums from a 29 nano cube with her first pair of breeding Pearly Jawfish to large saltwater displays over the years, ranging from 700-gallon sps dominant reefs to a 1200-gallon mixed reef within the store.

Evie has consulted on a variety of tank designs including bespoke builds for exacting clientele and for specialized aquatic animals to live inside.
She has worked for Fritz Aquatics for the past 4 years navigating the manufacturing side of the industry and building relationships with fellow store owners and employees. Traveling across the US is an easy adventure for her, having traveled throughout her childhood, and she visited all 48 connected states before age 16.
“I am honored to be invited to join the team at Reef Builders,” she told us. “I have tremendous respect for the platform Jake created and adore Windsor so much. Growing up I always wanted to be part of a community revolving around this hobby that I have loved most of my life. I’m so happy to be able to do it with people I have considered my friends for many years.”
With Evie, Remy, and Raj regularly traveling the length and breadth of the country and abroad, Reef Builders continues to be the first for news and the voice of the global saltwater aquarium industry. With Evie’s extensive reefing experience she has already hit the ground running on our YouTube channel, and we look forward to her future contributions across all of the Reef Builders portfolio of brands and platforms.
