The Reef Builders team has been out on the road again this week, this time traveling to Copley Ohio to visit Than Thein at the legendary Tidal Gardens. In this episode, Raj and Remy sample a few local beers (naturally,) Remy talks about his four-day power outage, while Raj updates us on the trials and tribulations of a custom build tank stand.
The trio discusses the ideal size of tank for beginners as well as the issues associated with scaling up from a 30 to a 55-gallon, a 120 to a 180-gallon, and way beyond, past the 500-gallon tank barrier. Than talks about the cheap T5s he used to run in his greenhouses (and if he still uses them now,) as well as lighting spectrum and which lights he uses to shoot his coral pics.
Than also details some of the special corals on his hit list as well as his memories of when he visited the Reef Builders Studio, and spent time talking about corals with Jake.
Enjoy…
