Reef Factory continues its rapid product roll-out with the launch of two new pumps – Dosing Pump ATO, and Dosing Pump CR. As the name suggests, Dosing Pump ATO is a complete Auto Top-Off device, comprising liquid level sensors to detect the water level in a pump chamber and a Smart dosing pump that connects to Reef Factory’s all-encompassing Smart Reef App.
A basic ATO typically uses a float switch or optical sensor and a small centrifugal pump, but by using a highly accurate dosing pump, the likes of which you would dose elements into your tank with, incredibly small amounts of water can be added – as little as 0.01ml if necessary – and with the smart functionality, it will also tell you exactly how much top off water has been dosed, and when and if you’re top-off reservoir is going to be empty. It’s topping off 2.0.
Dosing Pump CR is specifically made to supply calcium reactors (or Kalkwasser reactors,) with small, but continuous amounts of system water, to ensure as regular and as controlled an effluent as possible to have when using a calcium reactor. Gone are the days when you needed to start a siphon and control effluent using a small shut-off tap. The dosing pump CR is a peristaltic pump driven by a stepper motor that can be programmed to deliver between 0.1-62ml per minute, with an accuracy of 0.01ml, and it’s designed for continuous use. And again it’s all on the app.
Aesthetically, both pumps look great, they match the latest generation Reef Factory Dosing Pump Pro and can be mounted next to them using a DIN rail.
Both pumps will retail at 230 euros, or £199 each.
