New Ecoxotic Panorama Retrofit 2D released, now dimmable

By on Aug 12, 2011

Ecoxotic has been busy rolling up plenty of next generation products in the last few months and today added to the portfolio of newness with the announcement of the new Ecoxotic Panorama Retrofit 2D featuring higher output LED chips, optical lenses and a dimmable LED driver. The flexibility of the Panorama Retrofit 2D and improvements to an already simple design, make this one of the easiest and robust ways to add LED lighting to an existing setup.

Like its predecessor, the Panorama Retrofit 2D is designed to to drop into a hole cut into existing canopies or be hung by optional mounting hardware. The passive cooling includes a well-designed and large aluminum heatsink to pull heat away from the fixture and, if mounted through a hole, keeps heat from being trapped inside the canopy.

The Panorama Retrofit 2D is adequate to light a 2 ft. 2 ft. section of aquarium and is a good combination of 10,000K white and 453nm blue LEDs. The addition of the optical lenses provide an incredible amount of light and give the perfect color rendition for marine, reef and freshwater aquariums. Use the light alone or add some Panorama Pro or Stunner LEDs to create your custom appearance.

In order to use the dimmable LED driver, you must connect it to a 0-10V dimmer system for use (GHL Profilux, Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper and Neptune Apex & Apex Jr. systems).

The new Ecoxotic Panorama Retrofit 2D LED fixture retails for $358.00 USD and is available at the Ecoxotic website or from your favorite Ecoxotic retailer. The Ecoxotic Panorama Retrofit 2 is also available for $10 less and does not include the dimmer driver.

Great concept for an easy LED retrofit.  But I am really disappointed that the blue & white cannot be controlled independently.

cutting a nice looking square in a canopy is not as easy as they make it look, and if you mess it up there goes ure expensive aquarium furniture

Using a jigsaw isn’t exactly rocket science.  If you’re nervous you can get a 2′ square piece of plywood at a hardware store to practice on for $5.

Where can we find more information about this? Curious to know what kind of LEDs are used and any PAR readings.

this lamp runs off an ELN meanwell driver? Also, it doesn’t dim out of the box, you need to provide the 0-10v signal
