This weekend, October 11-12th, the Southern California Marine Aquarium Society will host their fifth annual Reef-A-Palooza event at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa California. Out of humble beginnings in backyards and the Marine Depot parking lot, Reef-A-Palooza or “RAP” eventually moved to it’s current location at the fairgrounds where the event drew over 2000 attendees last year. This year the event will feature Jake Adams, ANthony Calfo, Charles Delbeek and Bob Fenner as speakers. As in years past attendees can expect tons of exhibitors and more nice and rare corals frags than you can shake a stick at. In contrast to many other shows around the country, RAP and other West Coast marine aquarium shows tend to be attended by many more Asian reef product manufacturers which typically don’t attend other national shows. We attended last year’s event and we were fortunate to see many new exciting products and corals and we fully expect this year to be just as rewarding. We’ll be there before the show opens so we’ll be sure to give you a great sneek peak before anyone else. Attendance is $10 per person per day or $15 for the entire weekend.
