We has a chance to get a view of many rare aquarium products and creatures at Reef-A-Palooza in Costa Mesa California this weekend. Among those rarities was a whole collection of Euro-Reef nano skimmers whose little flock included at least 4 different models. These simply designed little skimming tubes are like little foam rockets, ready to blast off with a trail of protein if it weren’t for their nifty side attachment which doubles as a height adjustment. We’ve seen the video and the pictures but seeing these babies in person made us a believer that these nano skimmers pack quite a punch, producing copiuos amounts of small bubbled foam. The key to their performance is the unique design of the impeller which is not a needle wheel at all but an advancement on the mesh-mod concept. We got a look at the far out metallic material and we hope that the advancements will be included in future larger models. These little helions should be hitting the streets in about month, retailing for $80-$130.
