The Georgia aquarium, the biggest aquarium in the world for those of you not in the know received a new shipment of 6 sand tiger sharks, 3 males and 3 females. The sharks will go “into the 6.3 million gallon habitat alongside the whale sharks and manta ray. The new sharks range from five to eight feet in length and weigh between 56 to 237 pounds. They are large-bodied and display a mouthful of sharp teeth that protrude in all directions, even when the mouth is shut. Despite this, they are a docile, non-aggressive species.” While some of us might want to send former financial executives into the large “tank” and see if the sharks are in fact “docile” we will have to take their word for it. Might we suggest a Great White exhibit? Click the more link for a video.
