Big thanks goes out to Jay Hemdal for informing us about a mirror site to the online fish reference website Fishbase. For some unholy reason the most comprehensive website to all fish uses servers that are made of popsicle sticks and ducktape, therefore they are slow as molasses in January. It was really painfully slow. We don’t know much about the masked crusader which took upon him/her/itself to put all of Fishbase onto a lickedy quick mirror site but someone please award them a medal. Now you won’t have to go to specialty sites like Goby Frontiers, Centropyge.net, or plain old image searches for Fish ID . Hopefully the new site doesnt get so much traffic that is freezes up like the original Fishbase. Now if someone could just resurrect CoralSearch we’d be set.
Thank Poseidon for the Fishbase mirror site
