For the third time this year, a batch of several hundred Clarion angelfish was imported fresh from Revillagigedo Islands, Mexico. This Holy of Holies had not been legally available for at least 6 years prior to that and where once there were no Clarions to be seen, now it seems as though they are in abundance. Do not be fooled by the seeming abundance of this species, we’re still talking about only 700 specimens this year to feed the entire world demand for this rare fish. In either case, we’ve had the good fortune to handle no less than three of these fine fish and we’d like to share the video eye candy we produced specifically for your enjoyment. The fish in the video is a 6″ specimen which we received and conditioned for a local fellow hobbyist. Before you get on our backs for the size of the tank, please keep in mind the fish was in a quarantine situation which was part of a much larger system volume. Enjoy the vid and please let us know in the comments how your Clarion angelfish are doing for you. What, you haven’t gotten one yet?
