Lucky aquarists in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area can look forward to Next Wave, the first large marine aquarium event of the year presented by DFW Marine Aquariums Society (DFWMAS). This Saturday January 24th at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens reefers will be able to browse product and coral vendors, listen to talks by four national marine aquarium speakers and enjoy the company of their fellow aquarist. Up to pitch presentations at Next Wave 2009 include Bruce “Dr. Whale Shark” Carlson, Bob “My Friend” Fenner, Eric “The Candidate” Borneman and Jake “Flowmaster” Adams. Unless you purchased your tickets in advance, entry to the event will run you $40 for the day but at only $10 per speaker we’d say that is a pretty good deal not to mention the raffle, the exhibitors and the free helmets full of cottage cheese (we made that last one up).
