We started counting our pennies even before reading the spec sheet for Giesemann’s new G-tron aquarium controller. The premium electronic device will be available in two flavors with a basic model monitoring and controlling pH, temperature and general parameters and the premium model will also include redox and increased expandibility options. One of the unique features of this aqua computer is that the general settings are pre-set at the factory for out-of-the-box operation although those settings can be modified, saved and backed-up in case of power interruption. What is noticeably absent in the details is whether the G-tron will have any special dominion over Giesemann’s extensive catalog of top-shelf light fixtures. No word on price or release date but given the cost of G-lights, we can assume that the G-tron will not be an entry-level purchase.
