For all you safety minded Europeans out there, Arcadia has just made your day by releasing a plug in circuit breaker designed for aquarium use. The Arcadia breaker which is marketed under the Classica umbrella is rated for up to 3kw, it doubles up as an aquarium timer and the kit features test, reset and diagnostic buttons and indicators. Unlike standard circuit breakers which trip when the power is disconnected, the Classica breaker does not trip when power is removed so there is no need to reset it once power is reapplied. We’d love to see this important safety accessory made available for use with North American electrical systems but in the meantime the Arcadia Classica circuit breaker is available to Old World aquarists for just £16.
