Reef Life magazine, a new magazine dedicated to the saltwater world we all love so much has finally gone live. “In this first issue, zoologist Tristan Lougher surveys the ornate members of the marbled shrimp genus Saron, while Roger Steene, considered by most marine animal photographers as the best in the world, shares images of these animals in an amazing portfolio entitled “Sarondipity.†Photojournalist extraordinaire, Fred Bavendam, takes us on a search for the rare and exotic on the reefs around Komodo Island, Indonesia, with beautiful photos that are sure to inspire any underwater enthusiast. For those of you interested in the “fishy side†of the marine habitat, Dr. Hiroyuki Tanaka, the world’s leading authority on the Cirrhilabrus fairy wrasses, examines some of the species that are new to the aquarium trade, including some newly discovered and undescribed species, while John Hoover, marine animal photographer and writer, shares the challenges involved in capturing the ultimate flame wrasse (Cirrhilabrus jordani) photos.” Reef life is definitely a magazine that you should subscribe to, for only $37.50 a year, it isn’t bad either if you figure you would at least purchase one book in a year’s time.
