While the all-in-one aquarium craze continues throughout the industry there have been some aquarists not content with the stock equipment included in these setups and admittedly so. It hasn’t been until recently that companies have finally figured out that adding additional (powerful, efficient) lighting is what aquarirsts want for their beloved corals to prosper. In the above video, you’ll see a Red Sea Max 250 that has been retrofitted with new ballasts and controlled by a ProFilux controller that allows the T5 lighting to become dimmable. After viewing the video above check out this thread to see how the modifications can be done. We are assuming that this wouldn’t be to hard to replicate on Red Sea’s max 34 or any other all-in-one aquarium. Dimmable T5 lighting is the next up and coming technology that we should start to see more mainstream use of in the next several months. And that is something we definitely can get excited about.
