The Aquaray 1000 HD LED Tile is on display at the Quality Marine booth at IMAC West this weekend. This new little LED light shares some design and construction elements in common with AquaRay light which is also manufactured by Tropical Marine Centre in the UK. The new luminaire contains 10 high intensity LED lamps rated at 3 watts each with a balanced spectral emission between 405-750nm and peaks of lighting intensity with PAR values up to 300 umols. The Aquabeam 1000 is waterproof (we’re told, not splashproof) and there is also a light controller/timer which will increase the functionality of the lightint unit. This specific Aquaray 1000 HD LED Tile is one a handful of units which have been released for testing. There is no word on when the light will have mainstream release for US and UK market but Quality Marine will be the exclusive US distributor. The lamp will probably retail for about ~$350 but the controller will ship separately and we don’t know how much that will cost. More pics after the break.
