Tigrio is a new live food product from Nutramar which includes living Tigriopus sp. copepods, most likely C. californicus. The new product is a 4oz bottle which is kept refrigerated and it contains an unspecified number of Tigrio individuals, most likely in the 500-1000 range. The bottle is unique in that it is equipped with a n applicator tip which is convenient for attaching airline tubing and target feeding certain animals straight from the bottle. This product is very similar to Tigger Pods from Reef Nutrition except that the Tigrio appear to be a little smaller, less numerous and much more brown in color compared to Tigger Pods. Although Tigrio only defines the copepods down the the Tigriopus genus, it would be interesting to know if Tigrio contains different species than Tigger Pods. The 4oz bottles should retail for just under $20 and they are distributing to retailers now from Quality Marine.
