Are you looking for something extra special for your reef tank? There seems to be a peak in the availability of amazing corals and reef fish right now and there’s no doubt that our sponsors are delivering the lion’s share of that. Furthermore, the price and quality of this livestock is incredible compared to how much you had to borrow to get this kind of AAA+ grade coral even a year ago. We’ve gone ahead and spent all day perusing the best of the net to bring you the most trans-dimensional reef life from some of the most professional vendors on the net. Huge thanks to all the marine life slingers who sponsor Reef Builders for helping to keep the lights on and for making it easy to find the best reef aquarium lifestock in the country. If you are weak of heart or very excitable about exotic reef life, please do not click on the link below. Again, open the contents of this blog post at your own risk! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Aquatic Auction: Dusty doesn’t play around when it comes to buying and selling some of the most top notch Australian corals in the industry and this amazing Acan Lord colony shows the level of his game. This piece’s auction is currently at ~$400 but that’s still a bargain for a whole colony; you would have had to kill someone to get one of these two years ago.
It totally warms our non-photosynthetic little heart to see Aquatic Auctions giving Balanophyllia some attention in the primetime spotlight that is Aquatic Auction. This colony has a uniformity of corallites and structure which is highly desirable and we’ll be watching this auction real hard to see if we need to give it a nice dark home.
Ocean Gallery II: With a brilliant green color and stunning orange “eyes”, this orange alien eye challice gives the Bubble Gum Monster a run for it’s money, especially at less than $200 for a whole colony!
Pseudanthias flavoguttatus is an amazingly brilliant and durable little anthias which is rarely available in the aquarium trade, and rarely in any decent quantities. Our hommies at Ocean Gallery II have the hook-up on this fish from northern Phillipines collecting areas.
Aquarium Specialty: Proving that there’s no end the diversity and quality of top shelf Acan Lords, Scott is pimpin’ this ultra brilliant coral at a reasonable price. Now how many polyps do we have room for?
Nuh uh! That’s mine, I called it, I saw it first, don’t even try to buy it from under me. This purple rim orange cycloseris is MINE!!! However if you look at the picture it looks like Scott may have a couple more on-hand, you never know.
Coral Morphologic is showing the softies a little love by representing with these “Green People Eater” zoanthids which are a whole lot more attractive than they sound. Did you see the other amazing zoanthids they were selling last week? Man, we can’t wait until they let off some of the crazy flower anemones they’ve been hoarding.
Also from Core More, this lightly orange spotted blue Ricordea florida truly has a unique coloration.
Cherry Corals: Last but certainly not least, Australian coral specialiste Cherry Corals does us all a disservice of having so many top shelf Aussie LPS that we simply do not even know where to start. We’ve picked just a couple Acan lords that are well worth the per-polyp purchase price, just so you know you are getting the best of the best. Rainbow Crush lord below, Highlighters 2 Lord after that. Look at the pictures and let the colors transport you to another dimension. Need we say more?
