The H&S hang on skimmer which we first told you about earlier in the week is getting plenty of face time here at the MACNA show. As we’ve come to expect from H&S, the build quality of this protein skimmer is unbeatable and probably a little overbuilt for a hang-on protein skimmer aimed at the small- to medium-sized reef market. The H&S 110 Hang On skimmer is the same as the prototype/development model we showed you earlier, with the clear housing walls but the skimmer will likely be built using black acrylic instead of clear, in order to save cost. The intake and outlet pipes both have recessed o-ring fittings for that nice and tight fitting feeling. The stainless steel washer on the center clamp will not rust and the brace can be turned around to accommodate the range of tank edges these days. The production level H&S 110 hang on skimmer is still a couple months away but we’re glad to see one of our favorite manufacturers looking at the hang-on protein skimmer market.
