The HexJet water pump being shown by Warner Marine at Reefapalooza this weekend is a very interesting new twist on what an impeller water pump can do. Unlike the thousands of impeller water pumps that have been designed and built before, the HexJet doesn’t draw water tangentially to the outflow of water; the specially designed impeller housing actually draws water from the front of the water pump and pushes the flow out from 6 separate outlets. The overall output of the water pump is rated at over 1600 gph but together the 6 outlets produce a broader water flow than you’d expect from an impeller powerhead. Warner Marine has not set a release date or price for this powerhead but we hope that the HexJet will soon see action on the reefing frontlines. The Hexjet also comes with a handy magnetic mounting bracket that is similar to that of the Korallia but with an actuating mechanism that is unique in it’s own right. We’ll be bringing you more information on this unique water motion device later in the week and there more pictures after the break.
