Hybrid marine angelfishes are among the most coveted fish for the marine aquarium. Hybrids that include such a coveted species as the Clarion angelfish, Holacanthus clarionensis are among the most elusive in the ornamental aquarium trade. Within the recent shipment of 100 clarion angelfish from Cortez Marine, at least one gem of a hybrid was collected. Although clarion x passer angelfish are most often collected as small juveniles, this time around a nearly full adult specimen of hybrid angelfish was collected which very clearly shows an even blend of features from both of the parent species. We’re not sure how much this specimen sold for or where it is going but we thank Cortez Marine for sharing this great image of a beautiful specimen.
