Thanks to the good folks at Hydor USA, we here at Reef Builders were able to secure some of the new Koralia Evo circulation pumps to put to the test and so far, our impression is really favorable. We will be putting these new pumps through the paces over the next few weeks and will report more later. The one thing immediately noticeable is the size difference between the older comparable Koralia 3 to the new Koraila Evo 1,050 GPH model I received. I personally steered away from the Koralia’s initially due to its large size and went with Seio P1000 prop style pumps in my tank. Attached are a few images showing the difference in the sizes. The Koralia Evo comes in just a tad smaller and less intrusive that its competitor. These pumps are also made to be run on a timer, so a quick experiment of powering these on and off provided a tiny audible click without the chatter normally associated with non-switchable pumps. We have provided more pictures for you to salivate over after the break and will have more on these pumps in the coming weeks.
