AquaticLife has a new 150w double ended metal halide pendant they are showcasing here that will be available at the end of June. Available in 10,000K, 14,000K and 20,000K flavors, the pendant is passively cooled with electronic remote ballast and hanging hardware. The ballast is not a heat-generating monster of a box either and we were able to hold our hand on it, feeling just a slight bit of warmth after running all afternoon. Notches are cut out of the corners of the glass plate allowing for air to rise up and through the fixture in a chimney effect, so its really quiet. The lamp will also be available with an optional, adjustable wall bracket mounting kit if you’re not down for hanging it off the ceiling. Should be priced similarly to their swing arm lighting fixture.
