MACNA 2011 to be hosted in the Midwest by Greater Iowa Reef Society, GIRS
MACNA 2011 will be hosted in the the Midwest by Greater Iowa Reef Society (GIRS). Congratulations to the GIRS for their winning bid of next year’s MACNA. From MASNA:
MACNA 2011 host
It has been over a decade since MACNA was held in the Midwest. The wait is over. MASNA is pleased to announce the 23rd annual MACNA will be hosted by the Greater Iowa Reef Society (GIRS) in Des Moines, Iowa during the weekend of September 9-11, 2011.
GIRS has some great plans for the event and it is our hope that you will plan on joining us in Iowa for MACNA XXIII in 2011.
Further details will be announced at MACNA 2010 in Orlando, FL.
Although many MACNAs have been hosted by clubs with more touristy destinations, we for one welcome the selection of the location for MACNA 2011. We hear that downtown Des Moines is about as modern and classy a metro area as exists in the US and the central location between both coasts and the relative proximity to Chicago should draw in a nice crowd of attendees.
