If you needed any more proof that Colorado was a happening place for reefing, hot on the heels of ReefStock is ReefED, the second reef aquarium event to hit the Denver area this year! ReefED is unique among aquarium conferences around the country as the event really focuses on speaker presentations which this year will feature marine fish breeding talk from ReefBuilders writer Matt Pedersen, Seachem’s Jon Garnett and diseased coral expert Eric Borneman. If you’ll recall Matt Pedersen is the deserving breeder who was entrusted with the infamous Lightning Maroon Clownfish from Papua New Guinea and we suppose he will inform ReefED attendees on how Mr. Lightning is settling into captive life in MinnesOHta. Although ReefED focuses on the speaker presentations, of course there will be plenty of intermissions to the program for perusing the vendors. The front range is home to some of the most potent coral growers in the country and they’ll be displaying some of the stickiest corals and the dankest frags. ReefED 2010 will be going down this Saturday, May 1st from 8am to 5pm (8am on a Saturday? really?) at The MAC, located in Westminster, CO. Admission is $5 for members, $15 for non-members and for more information visit the ReefED website.
