The Red Sea Max S- 500, which was released at Interzoo 2010 has finally been revealed with a bevy of specifications. The Max 500 from Red Sea is 440 liters (116 gallons) with total system water volume coming in at 500 liters which includes a 60 liter (15.85 gallons) glass sump that has 3 areas for separation. The kit comes with 3 pumps, with the main sump pump pushing 9,000 lph (2,377 GPH) with two additional pumps that bring the total water turnover to 12,000 lph (3170 GPH). Down in the glass sump, you’ll find the return pump mentioned earlier and a C Skim 1800 in charge of skimming the water column. You’ll also find a 300 watt heater, keeping your fish and corals warm and cozy. Those corals will enjoy the Max 500 lighting options including over 540 watts of light with 5 x 54w x 10k and 5×54 actinic. The lights are controlled with two timers located in the aquarium stand giving you the options to give the Red Sea Max S- 500 lighting when you want to. Did we mention that this aquarium uses high clarity glass? The stand is marine spec anodized aluminum profile frame. Clearly Red Sea spared few expense to bring you this top-of-the-line aquarium. We don’t have pricing on the Max S-500, but expect it run over $1000.
