The E-spot and E-stripe LEDs from Elos are the Italian company’s way of thinking outside the box of the E-lite while still offering some options for reefers to get more from Elos lights. While we were at InterZoo we briefly introduced the E-spot LED lights which come in a single strip with three LEDs for a total of 9 watts and the E-spotXL which doubles up the LEDs and is designed to flank the original size E-lite. Meanwhile, the E-stripe is a striplight form factor LED that Elos is cramming into all kinds of their lights including the PlanetSingle metal halide fixture as well as the AquatopE-Stripe. The E-stripe LED light comes in two colors, white and blue, and in two sizes. The E-stripe is pushing 15 watts through nine LEDs that are spread over 21 inches/53 cm of length and the E-stripeL nearly doubles that with 34 watts of power delivered through 15 LEDs spread over 34 inches/88cm. Although it’s nice to see Elos paying a particularly generous amount of attention to their LED lighting range, we were most pleased to see the inclusion of E-stripes in their PlanetSingle metal halide fixture. This kind of LED accessory lighting by Elos is precisely what we would have expected to see on the market before the full fledged LED fixtures but in any case, we look forward to seeing these products become distributed and priced within mainstream reach. Oh and Elos? you can only come out with so many E-products before we all completely lose track of your E-naming convention; how about you start coming up with names that are outside the E-box, mmmk?
