Coral Gro parts A and B are new supplements from Red Sea which work in tandem to encourage coral growth and which appear to be based on more science than hearsay. While getting schooled at the Red Sea InterZoo booth, we had the pleasure of being pitched some marketing and development details regarding the Coral Gro products which actually makes sense. Coral Gro A contains a blend of carbohydrates which are in a form that is more accessible to the soft tissues of soft and stony corals. Coral Gro B contains a blend of Amino Acids and vitamins which help the coral to convert the carbs in Coral Gro A into useful energy for the coral. Since Zooxanthellae only provide the coral with basic energy in the form of sugars, corals have to get their carbohydrates from somewhere whether it is from the food they capture or from the supplements we add. With Coral Gro A providing carbohydrates to coral tissues which are stored and then called upon as photosynthesis is taking place, and Coral Gro B providing the essential amino acids and vitamins needed to convert that energy to growth, this one two punch of organic supplements targeted at coral growth actually seem promising. We look forward to seeing results with Coral Gro A & B that live up to the label.
