It’s the 15th of the month so that means that another issue of Advanced Aquarist is now available for your reading leisure. The June issue of AAOM is a hodgepodge of disparate topics which should have a story of interest for everyone. This being the summer months, the seasonal hot-water blues should be descending on the high energy reefs of the country. Terry editorializes on a few ways to keep tanks cool but he mostly is fishing for contributions from the readership about what’s new in the realm of aquarium cooling. Right along those lines, Mr. Riddle takes aquarium thermometers through the ringer and he gives some tips about how to calibrate this most critical measurement tool. If you’re the kind of reefer who likes their tentacles with bulbous tips, then James Fatheree’s article on bubble tip anemones is a great piece that goes in-depth on the topic of Entacmea quadricolor. Finally, I’ve written a little piece on some of the more innovative products of InterZoo 2010. Although none of the products will be new to regular readers of Reef Builders, I offer some additional analysis of why some of these products really stood out and how they bring new ideas to the reef aquarium hobby.
June issue of Advanced Aquarist now online with bubble tips, Thermo-Meters and Innovations from InterZoo
