The Sfiligi Vision is a Plasma Arc light fixture which is flanked with four high output T5 fluorescent tubes. The Sfiligoi Vision is the first plasma light we have seen with a decent reflector for the LIFI emitter/burner and it is also the first such light that we’ve seen sporting supplemental lighting to bring the blues to the LIFI’s definitely sunny color temperature. The ST40 style plasma core of the Sfiligoi Vision is a monster of light production and the multifaceted reflector was doign a great job of blinding everyone who walked by the Sfiligoi booth at InterZoo. Fortunately, at the very end of the show we swung by the Sfiligoi booth again to see the lighting candies and we were surprised to catch Mr. Sfiligoi sneaking a peek at the Vision which had been mounted over a real live aquarium. We were treated to the Sfiligoi Vision cycling through various power levels and color temperatures, with and without the T5 actinics so we could see what the light is capable of over an average reef tank. For those of you crying bloody murder over the color rendition of current generation Plasma lights, the Vision did a fine job of balancing out the color of the sun with just four T5 tubes. Furthermore, it is inevitable that future fixtures will do even better at balancing the color with rows of blue and royal blue LEDs. Follow the break for the gallery of the Sfiligoi Vision at various intensities and color levels and huge thanks to Mr. Sfiligoi for helping us get all these shots.
These pictures may all look the same but we’ll do our best to describe how they differ. Those of you who expect Disco-lighting over a reef tank, move along because the Plasma Arc is more about recreating the best light source in our planet, which is the sun. If you don’t like the natural color rendition of 6000K, we suggest you pack up your toys and go home.
