Rogger’s Reef Food is making a splash as an all-in-one food to feed your entire aquarium. The two varieties, Complete Blend Reef Food and Complete Blend Plus Reef Food, do not use any preservatives, binders, fillers or exoskeletons in the mix. Rogger’s Reef Food is produced with getting a quality and fresh product to the hobbyist being hand processed and made in small batches.
The Complete Blend is made from wild-caught shrimp, squid, octopus, fresh-shucked clams and clam juice, mussels, fresh-pressed garlic, fresh aloe vera, Cyclop-Eeze®, and Selcon™. The Complete Blend Plus includes all those goodies plus scallops, lobster and fresh spirulina for the herbivores.
The company suggests using the food frozen in a feeding pouch or mesh when adding to your tank as this method simulates natural feeding and promotes the consumption of all the food. Since there are no binders or fillers to worry about, thawing and rinsing of the food isn’t necessary. The food can be found at a select few LFS and is now being carried at Dr.’s Foster & Smith. The idea came from a professional chef and hobbyist who channeled his culinary skills into creating a feast for his tank’s inhabitants. Chef Rogger Castells took his passion for food and created his own twist on fish food, initially selling his concoction locally in Florida but has begun distributing his food nationally.
