Move over Sea Monkeys, here come the Sea Angels. This unique all-in-one system dubbed the Qulio is made specifically to house Clione or “sea angels.” The quirky little critters are actually a mollusk that live in the Arctic Ocean and can even be found in the English Channel. These little ghost-like creatures need to be housed in water around 5° C and the Qulio takes care of that for you. Unlike the inaccurate maintenance described in the video, fresh top-off water just needs to be added periodically.
The tank measures 23 cm x 26 cm by 30 cm and we couldn’t find the exact pricing. From the look of the Qulio, it looks like it could also make some great smoothies, margaritas or daiquiris. Poking around the website, it appears these tanks are rented out with new Clione running around ¥7,800 (around $88 USD). However, the video shot in 2008, quotes the price at ¥89,250 for three sea angels; that’s over $1000 for three swimming buggers.
