The Geo Sulphur Nitrate reactor takes Geo’s best Calcium Reactor designs and melds them into one solid device which is fine tuned for growing bacteria on sulfur beads. Geo’s nitrate reactor is driven by a maxiJet 600 with a flowrate of 160 gph which can react up to nine pounds of the included Carib-Sea sulfur media. Nine pounds of Sulfur media should be able to handle the nitrate load of up to a 600 gallon reef aquarium, but if you have a smaller tank you can use less media and have some left over for the recharge about six months down the road.
The Geo Sulfur Nitrate Reactor will begin selling for pre-order on Premium Aquatics for the introductory price of $299. Pre-order are expected to ship in a few weeks on August 23rd, after which point the Geo Sulfur Reactor will have a retail price of $329.
