To wind down the afternoon and get your evening started off on the right foot, we’ve got a little barrage of reefing tidbits that may make you wonder WTF is a manus? First off on the reefing blitz is a great Cadbury ad for “Spots vs. Stripes” that takes the whole “shirts vs. skins” playground hoops game to a whole new level. But don’t just watch this video and skip on by, there is much, much, much more fun after the break including the debut single by the new electro-group ReefStock Allstars.
Underwater video cameras have not only been getting the waterproof treatment lately, many are sporting some serious HD capabilities. The new Exemode DV5000UW waterproof video camera is not likely to win any beauty pageants but if you’re looking for a waterproof HD vidcam the $150 price tag is inviting. The Exemode sports 720p HS recording at 12 megapixel with USB, HDMI, and A/V (NTSC and PAL) output, 32MB on-board memory and SD card support. Thanks Engadget!
Next up, little asymmetric fossils discovered in Australia are thought to be the oldest full-fledged animal bodies yet discovered, beating the previous contenders by tens of millions of years and pushing the evidence for animal life into an earlier geologic time. These little organisms are akin to sponges and date back between 635 million and 659 million years ago. According to Adam Maloof of Princeton University and his colleagues reported in Nature Geoscience on August 17, the timing sandwiches the fossils between two cold spells that iced over most of the planet during what WIRED is calling “a Hollywood-disaster-style geologic period called the Cryogenian.” Neat article, make sure to check it out.
Last but not least, the debut single from ReefStock Allstars. I didn’t know Rich Ross could sound so creepy! One word…Manus!
