It may not be a lot to look at, just a USB stick with ZigBee bluetooth baked in, but the V-link from Vertex is a sure sign of things to come. With electronics shrinking and coming down in price, it’s only a matter of time before most of our high tech aquarium gear is all kinds of wirelessly connected. The V-link is specifically made to send your Light Studio programming to Illumina and future wireless versions of the Lumilux LED lights. There may only be few Illumina lights that can interface with the V-link, but that hasn’t stopped Vertex from making sure accessories exist to control their flagship LED light. The $55 Vertex V-link will be first available from Premium Aquatics and we’re waiting to hear back whether or not it has some on-board memory to store the settings or programming from Vertex Light Studio.
