In the reefing world we’ve been accustomed to thinking in shades of white and blue with the limitations of single-color bulbs with the emphasis on the bright blues and crisp whites that add pop to the phosphorous nature of corals but hide the true beauty of our tanks specifically in the reds, oranges and yellows in fish and coral. With LEDs and specifically RGB LEDs, we now have the ability to create lighting cycles that give us a full range dawn-to-dusk look easily that can hit on many levels to bring more spark to colors that get subdued through heavy blue lighting. Through a full range of controls, we can still get that heavy blue but can also explore and enjoy other color combinations to get a very pleasing full spectrum look.
No word on pricing or availability quite yet on this fixture and there isn’t a lot of information on the optional controller and whether or not it would fly in the U.S. due to patent restrictions.
