Attention all you coral heads, if you are in Southern California this weekend make sure you come out to Reef-A-Palooza hosted by the Southern California Marine Aquarium Society at the Orange County Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday and make sure to stop by the Reef Builders lounge. Besides a great lineup of livestock vendors, equipment vendors and manufacturers on hand, we will be showcasing some cool gadgets and gizmos providing a great place to stop by and relax with friends or just come around and say “Hi!”
We’re looking forward to this great event and getting the chance to see what’s new and meet our incredible readers. Jake and myself will be on-hand and plan on bringing a handful of awesome to the show giving you — our loyal readers — the chance to scope out what’s in our Reef Builders goodie bag. So far we are planning on bringing:
- Sunbright’s UV LED light
- Apogee’s handheld UV meter
- A demo copy of Tony Vargas’ upcoming book “The Coral Reef Aquarium”
- Bluemoon’s Combo LED pendant
- The Mame Ecolight RGB LED light
- The Mame Nano Overflow
- X-aqua’s X-inout wavemaking return
- EcoTech Marine’s Vortech MP60
We may have a few more things on hand but we feel we’ve got a good selection of cool things you’ve read about right here at Reef Builders over the last few months. We’ll also be scouring the floor looking for all-things-cool and will definitely help point out all the cool stuff we see at the vendor booths on the floor.
Among a great lineup of speakers including Ret Talbot, Greg Morgan, Justin Credible, Scott Fellman, Adam Blundell and Dave Weeshoff, Jake will be giving his presentation on LED lighting — only the second time he’s given this presentation so far.
Reef-A-Palooza is taking place Saturday and Sunday (October 23-24) starting at 10 a.m. PT each day and ending at 6 p.m. PT on Saturday and 4 p.m. PT on Sunday. Make sure you check out the Reef-A-Palooza website for admission pricing, directions, vendor lineup and more. Hope to see you there!
