A couple weeks ago we brought you the two year update of Steve Hurlock’s Mountain Reef and this week we’ve got a new video of the 600 gallon reef tank by Aquatic Dreams. In August of 2009 we shared a video of the Aquatic Dreams reef with much of the corals already in their prime. Several months ago Aquatic Dreams moved their retail location from Spokane to Post Falls, Idaho and the whole reef had to be moved as well. Now that the 600 gallon reef system seems to be settling back in, you can already see that this updated video shows a masterpiece in the making.
We’re really loving the shorter aquascape, and the sparse coral placement which allows for tons of growing room. That monster Tridacna gigas clam was moved into the 600 from the old 450 reef that was also in the old shop and it has to be one of the biggest giant clams in an American private reef display. We have utmost confidence in Kevin Pockell to grow this tank into an amazing reef. He’s an old-school reefer who’s simple reefing philosophy has ensured him many awesome displays over the years. We look forward to seeing more updates on this tank in the future.
