SteelAquariumStands.com is showcasing their stand and cabinetry skills in this recent video. For most of us who have DIY’d or have had a custom stand built locally, there are lots of things we’d love to do right the next time and SteelAquariumStands.com is taking a lot of that to heart. The company is looking to give you a solid stand, with features made for the harsh saltwater environment, along with something beautiful on the outside.
The stands can be constructed with a variety of sized square steel tubing depending on your tank size. The steel structure features a marine-grade epoxy resin coating, closed tubes and extra reinforcement. The cabinetry is basically skinning that is held in place with magnets allowing for a good looking exterior with the ability to access the inside from a variety of directions making setup and maintenance much easier for the hobbyist. There are plenty of great and exotic wood choices that are exquisitely crafted with nice tight seams. The company also constructs canopies featuring the same style, allowing you to remove panels to access the top of the aquarium.
While to company boasts not having to use hinges so eliminate corrosion and failure, one small criticism of the canopy top is needing to prop up the top and then lift and remove the doors for any access into the top of the aquarium. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, having a hinged access does make it much simpler to get in and feed, peek at your lights to make sure they are all on and working or other tasks we may do multiple times a day.
No pricing specs were available to go along with these beauties but if you are interested, visit the company’s website.
