Most of us are well aware that eating seafood is often better for your health, but that many seafood choices come at a cost to the marine environment. For some time now Monterrey Bay Aquarium has worked on the Seafood Watch Program which is best known for the little seafood advisory guides they issue for making better choices about which seafood you eat. In yet another illuminating TED talk, Barton Seaver discusses that the three tiered advisory guides are a good start, but they oversimplify a problem which is as complex as the marine ecosystem itself.
