The Sfiligoi Vision is the first plasma arc LIFI light fixture that has been specifically designed for use on home aquariums. There has been a negative undertone of criticism regarding the color rendition of LIFI lighting for reef tanks but we don’t see what the big deal is since the LIFI most closely resembles the sun, you know that big ball of burning gas in the sky which does just does just fine to grow photosynthetic corals on natural reefs. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that any additional supplemental blue light can only help to make the corals easier to look at under LIFI and it looks like Sfiligoi’s Vision light is doing pretty well.
With four high output T5 tubes flanking the 250 watt Luxim LIFI emitter, that extra 160 watts of blue actinic appears to balance out the warm color of the LIFI very well. We’re assuming that since Mach de Sousa shot this video to demonstrate the Sfiligoi Vision light over his corals, the intensity level of the adjustable LIFI is at 100%. At $3000 for a single two foot fixture, the Vision’s LIFI is not yet at a price point to take over the world of reefing lights but it’s a start.
