The Triton reverse osmosis (RO) unit is a new high performance water purifier from Hydro-Logic, the market leaders for water purification in the hydroponics hobby-industry. The Triton uses a custom made aluminum bracket which houses only clear filtration housings. The plumbing is very sleek with a very simple connection for the pressure gauge and fewer leak points throughout. For an R.O. without a booster pump, the Triton is very efficient with a 2:1 ratio of waste water to filtered water as opposed to the 4:1 ratio more typical of standard R.O. units. The Triton R.O. also comes with a built in auto shut-off valve and a flush valve which doubles as a flow restrictor.
Also, the Triton comes loaded with activated coconut carbon which is carbonized at lower temperatures and is more of a renewable resource than your typical coal-based carbon block cartridges. Even the methane produced from the carbonization of the coconut carbon cartridge is used to power turbines at the plant where it is made and the CO2 is scrubbed out. In addition to the eco-friendly design, the majority of the materials are U.S. made in Southern California and the units are completely assembled in the U.S. Retailers will love the full color, informative packaging which is much more likely to sell itself when sitting on the shelf. The Hydro-Logic R.O. will come in two models, the D100 and the D200 which produce 100 and 200 gallons per day respectively. We’ll be sure to report back on pricing on the Triton R.O. when it becomes available in about 4-6 weeks.
