The Genesis LED light from Sfiligoi is a dimmable LED fixture. We first reported on the Sfiligoi Genesis LED in May when we spent some time with the prototype fixture at InterZoo in Germany. One of the first Sfiligoi LEDs to be showed off properly is a custom built a 32″x95″ fixture for a European special order which also incorporates color-controllable RGB LEDs. This three foot by eight foot fixture utilizes 216 CREE XP-G LEDs and 72 CREE XP-E Royal Blue LEDs. The custom light will also came with one Sfiligoi link dimming controller with six independent channels. The image above shows the what kind of color simulations are possible with the RGB LEDs.
With 1020 Watt of LEDs the power consumption of the Sfiligoi fixture is very impressive but there’s no way it can reach the stated 108,100 lumens. Since the LEDs will be running close to three watts each and they are only passively cooled, it is simply not possible for the LEDs to put out 139 lumens per watt. However, Sfiligoi has clearly put in some efficient narrow angle optics which work very well to collimate the photons into a very tight spread. Let’s hope the owner of this powerful LED light knows that a watt of LED light is incomparable to a watt of T5 light, especially when the light is so directional in this case. More pictures of the 95” fixture after the break.
