ReefKoi, a Colorado-based coral vendor, is getting in the LED lighting game with their Evolution 200W LED light they started carrying. With 192 1W LEDs spread out with 132 460nm blue and 68 14,000K white LEDs, the Evolution lamp will give you an overall 20,000K appearance. The light is controlled by two power switches that control two banks of 100 mixed blue and white LEDs so you can have a more gradual lighting cycle.
The Evolution LED light measures 27 x 5.5 x 2.5 in. and includes four fans to keep the light cool. The light housing is powdercoated silver for a sleek look in case you are not running a system with a hood. The ReefKoi team has been testing this unit over one of their frag tanks and so far they are considering the coral growth similar to what was achieved using a 400W metal halide. Each light will run you $449 and comes with a two-year warranty.
