When we originally shared news about killing Aiptasia with electricity we thought it was neat. We never expected that a company might market the process of electrolysis to reef consumers but that has just happened. SWC has released the Aiptasia zapper out to the masses for a cool $80. The Aiptasia killing gadget uses a graphite electrode and small needle that will literally zap the pest anemones away. Aiptasia, or pest Majano Anemones have been a real problem but you now have another solution besides the various methods of aiptasia removal at your disposal. No zapping your friends.

Update: It looks like the original inventor of the device Paul Baldassano has a pending patent and TB Aquatics has stopped the sale of these non original devices. Look for Paul’s device to come out this year check this R2R thread for more information. thanks Reggie.
